Capitol Records 75th anniversary collection due in 2017

To celebrate the 75th anniversary of Capitol Records will see the label reissue 75 albums on vinyl. The vinyl reissue have been dubbed collectively as The Capitol Records 75th Anniversary Collection.

According to the press release, Capitol Records “convened an advisory board of noted music journalists, authors and renowned creative figures to decide on the final list of albums that comprise The Capitol Records 75th Anniversary Collection.

“The result spans myriad Capitol eras and musical genres, and includes best sellers, influential works and lesser-known gems (see below). The reissue program begins this month, and titles will be available through music retailers throughout 2017.”

The anniversary collection reissues include notable albums from the likes of Nat King Cole, Neil Diamond, John Lennon, Bob Seger, and Frank Sinatra. There is also reissues planned for the likes for Norah Jones, Katy Perry, Sam Smith, Foo Fighters.

Also included on the list is Megadeth‘s second studio album, Peace Sells… But Who’s Buying? originally released in 1986 and widely considered a classic and important album in the thrash metal genre.

Also included on the list of reissues is the 1972 self-titled debut album by The Raspberries. The band most recently were featured in Marvel film as well as included on the official soundtrack for Guardians of the Galaxy, which the song Go All the Way was included.
